Madhur Jaffrey Wins James Beard Lifetime Achievement Award

India born British-American cookbook author and actress Madhur Jaffrey has been named by the James Beard Foundation as the winner of the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award.

The James Beard Awards celebrate outstanding achievement and exceptional culinary talent. The James Beard Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to celebrate, support, and elevate the people behind America’s food culture. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual whose lifetime body of work has had a positive and long-lasting impact on the way we eat, cook or think about food in America.

Jaffrey’s first cookbook was An Invitation to Indian Cooking. The book was inducted into the James Beard Foundation’s Cookbook Hall of Fame in 2006. She has since released more than 30 award-winning cookbooks.
