Chandigarh, September 11
Heavy rain pummelled Delhi, and the record rainfall in the national capital has led to some never-seen-before sights.
From people using boats to navigate waterlogged Delhi streets to the airport resembling a lake, social media flooded full of videos of people coping with Delhi’s heavy rain.
Parts of Delhi airport submerged in water; 3 flights cancelled, 5 diverted
After videos of the airport began circulating, Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took to Twitter. to say he’d spoken to airport officials and “was told that the waterlogged forecourt was cleared up within 30 minutes”.
One video showed Bharatiya Janata Party’s Delhi leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga sitting on a rubber raft to troll the Delhi government under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “I wanted to go rafting in Rishikesh, but the coronavirus pandemic played spoilsport. But I thank the chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, for having made these arrangements. I request Mr. Kejriwal to advertise this as he advertises everything else. Kejriwalji, we had fun,” he said.
