Watch: Shaheen Afridi floors batter with fiery return throw one ball after being hit for six

Watch: Shaheen Afridi floored Bangladesh batter Afif Hossain with a fiery return throw, leaving him in need of medical attention during the second T20I of the ongoing series between the two teams in Mirpur on Saturday.

Having accounted for opener Saif Hassan in the first over of the innings, Afridi returned to bowl the third, getting hit for a flick-six by No.3 Hossain off the second delivery of the over.

Off the very next delivery, Hossain defended the ball back to Shaheenm who fired a throw back at the batter. The batter, who hadn’t moved out of his crease, copped the throw on his foot while trying to evade the incoming ball. He went down in a flash, lying flat on the ground in pain as Pakistan players gathered around him in concern. Shaheen, too, walked up to the batter, putting his hand on his helmet in to check up on him, but the batter limped away, with the team physio eventually clearing him to continue.

Earlier this month, James Pattinson was handed a one-match ban by Cricket Australia for throwing a return at Daniel Hughes during a Sheffield Shield game. He was also fined 100 per cent of his match fees for the incident, which, similar to Shaheen, saw the bowler hit an in-crease batter with a throw on the foot.

Gets hit for a 6 and Shaheen Shah loses his control next ball!

I get the aggression but this was unnecessary. It was good however that he went straight to apologize after this.#BANvPAK pic.twitter.com/PM5K9LZBiu
