Wankhede submits caste papers to NCSC

New Delhi, November 1

NCB’s Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede, who has been in the eye of the storm following the cruise drugs case, today visited the anti-drug agency’s headquarters here and met senior officials.

Before visiting the NCB headquarters here at RK Puram, the officer went to the office of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) and submitted his caste-related documents to chairman Vijay Sampla.

Wankhede told the media, “I have presented all documents and facts sought by the commission (NCSC)… it will verify my complaint and the honourable chairperson will soon give you a response.”

Wankhede is facing allegations levelled by and minister in the Maharashtra Government Nawab Malik that he forged his caste certificate and other documents to secure a job as an IRS officer under the SC quota. — TNS
