Vivek Agnihotri questions Mamata’s ‘silence’ on taking responsibility for women’s safety

Kolkata, Aug 21 (IANS) Film director Vivek Agnihotri on Wednesday questioned the ‘silence’ of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on taking responsibility for the safety of women in the state.’The Kashmir Files’ director was in Kolkata to participate in a protest march organised by an independent body, ‘Khola Hawa’, against the ghastly rape and murder of a junior doctor at the state-run R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital earlier this month.“Why is the Chief Minister not stepping up and taking responsibility for the safety of women in the state? She must come out and say that crime against women will not be tolerated at any cost.
