Vikas Jagota convicted for assaults on wife

A Rockland County (NY state) man has been convicted of several attacks on his wife, including a punch that caused a miscarriage.

 

37 year old Vikas Jagota of New City was convicted of assault and abortion charges on November 25.

 

In May 2012, Jagota forced his wife’s wrist through a glass cabinet and punched her in the head.

 

Four months later, say prosecutors, he punched her in the abdomen, causing the miscarriage.

 

It is learnt that on the day of the May attack, Jagota was in a rage after his brother, Vishal, was sentenced for assault.

 

Jagota faces a maximum of seven years in state prison when he is sentenced on March 18, 2014.
