New Delhi, Feb 11 (IANS) The union cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Tuesday, hours after the BJP’s defeat in the Delhi assembly polls.

The meeting was attended by senior ministers including Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj and the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are learnt to have discussed the Delhi poll outcome.

The Aam Aadmi Party registered a landslide victory in the polls winning 67 seats and squeezing the BJP to just three. The results came as a shock to the party which won Lok Sabha election under Modi’s leadership last year and has done well in the subsequent assembly polls.

An official release said that the cabinet gave its approval for increasing the authorised share capital of the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) from Rs.1,500 crore to Rs.3,000 crore. NMDFC is a central sector public enterprise (CPSE) in the ministry of minority affairs.
