Khammam: TRS party was making sincere efforts to resolve the issue of SC categorisation, stated the party Lok Sabha leader and Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao.

He gave the assurance to Madiga JAC State campaign secretary Gaddala Nageswara Rao who met the MP at his residence in New Delhi on Wednesday. The JAC leader met the MP as part of his efforts to garner support for the cause of SC categorisation from all political parties.

The JAC leader submitted a memorandum seeking the MP to make efforts on behalf of the TRS party for bringing a legislation giving the States the right to categorise SC reservations on the basis of population.

Nageswara Rao who responded positively to the request, promised that the TRS party was preparing for a constructive struggle in a phased manner to ensure justice for Madigas adding that all political parties have to respond positively to the issue.

He reminded that the TRS party has introduced a resolution in the past in the Telangana Assembly in support of the SC categorisation. All measures required to address the issue would be taken, he added.

The JAC leader also urged the MP to take an all-party delegation to Delhi as soon as possible in order to find a lasting solution to the problem by taking the matter to the notice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He warned that the BJP leadership would see an uprising against it in Telangana if it failed to address the issue at the earliest. In the future, the nature of the Madigas movement would change to protect the rights of the community, said a release here.
