Three-vehicle accident on NY State Thruway

BATAVIANY — An Ohio driver is facing multiple charges following a three-vehicle crash on the New York State Thruway, and it was all caught on camera.

The incident happened at the I-90WB in Batavia, Genesee County.

A video uploaded to YouTube by Tim Linton shows a Camaro nearly side-swipe a pickup truck while trying to pass a tractor trailer. The Camaro driver then tries to pass the pick-up truck on the left shoulder, but ends up hitting the pick-up truck, forcing both vehicles in front of the tractor trailer.

However, no one was hurt.

Camaro driver Kiran Thapa, of Columbus, Ohio, is charged with driving while intoxicated and driving without a license.

Thapa was arraigned and remanded to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
