Telangana HC directs engg college to pay Rs 20 lakh to NUDA

Hyderabad: Justice A Abhishek Reddy of the Telangana High Court directed Vijay Rural Engineering College to pay approximately Rs 20 lakh to Nizamabad Urban Development Authority for regularisation of a built up area in Nanakram Village. In a writ petitioner filed by Ideal Education Society, S Niranjan Reddy, senior counsel appearing for the society stated that as per the requirements of the AllIndia Council for Technical Education, all requirements must be complied with for considering the approval. Since regularisation will be done only after the payment for the built up area, he contended that all unnecessary charges have been added by the Municipal authorities and the petitioner had no difficulty in paying as per the order of the government. However, it was stated that extra charges were added only in the interest of the State revenue. The Director of Town and Country Planning and Nizamabad Urban Development Authority have been directed to file a counter. The matter has been adjourned to July 20.
