Susheela Jayapal Loses in Oregon

Indian American candidate Susheela Jayapal, has lost the Democratic Primary in Oregon’s 3rd Congressional District.

Maxine Dexter defeated progressives, including Jayapal and won the primary to replace outgoing Democratic Rep. Earl Blumenauer.

Susheela Jayapal is the sister of Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal.

Jayapal, was endorsed by US Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont as well as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota
