Stop being a buzzkill: PETA founder tells the correct way to walk your dog

Washington D.C. [USA], Jan 29 (ANI): If you own a dog by any chance, then it is very likely you’ve been walking your pooch wrong this whole time.
Ingrid Newkirk, the founder and president of PETA thinks that people often rush their dogs through daily walks, without giving them a chance to explore the outside world, reported Fox News.
The owners are also guilty of being indifferent during their dog’s daily outside excursions, missing an opportunity to bond with their four-legged friends.
According to Fox News, Newkirk told in an interview with Seattle Morning: “That’s a very special occasion for a dog, to be outside and to smell and to look. They don’t want to be stuck in a room all day with their legs crossed, hoping to go outside. It’s more than a bathroom break, it’s an excursion.”
So now the question arises, how to stop being a total buzzkill and make things a bit more fun for your pet?
“Let them sniff! That’s their way they read the news, that’s their Internet. Don’t drag them along,” said Newkirk.
Newkirk also suggested that dog owners should get off their phones and actively engage in the daily walks.
“People are so wrapped up in their own things they want to do.”
Finally, she cautioned against using dog collars.
“I would go with a harness. Because a collar can cause a lot of problems, and never a choke or prong collar.” (ANI)
