Singur project gets first inflows

Sangareddy: With Manjira’s catchment areas upstream of Singur project receiving heavy rainfall on Thursday evening, the project has started receiving its first inflows of the season. The project, constructed across river Manjira at Singur in Pulkal mandal of Sangareddy district, presently has 17 TMCft of water against it’s full capacity 29.91 TMCft. Since the project received heavy inflows during the September and October last year, the project maintained its storage at 17 TMCft.

Speaking to Telangana Today, Deputy Executive Engineer Singur Project Nagaraju said the project was received 5,972 cusecs on Friday evening.  The inflows started on Thursday evening since the catchment areas reported rainfall of over 100 mm rainfall. The inflows are expected to continue for the next couple of days. The outflows from the project were put at 470 cusecs.
