Shocker! American Woman Found Chained to a Tree in an Indian Jungle

In a shocking piece of news coming from India, a woman from the United States was found chained to a tree in a jungle and left to die in a forest in India. The Indian-origin woman named Lalita Kayi Kumar was rescued after a local shepherd in the area heard her cries. She was chained to a tree in Sonurli village, about 279 miles off of India’s financial capital Mumbai.

After the authorities brought her to the hospital she scribbled a note based on which the police has registered a case of attempted murder against her former husband.

Her identity was unraveled by her US passport and national identity card that was recovered from her.

The woman who is currently hospitalized in Goa, a nearby state, is weak and frail to give a statement currently. It is still to be ascertained as to how long the woman was chained to the tree. The woman was born in the US, but also resided in Goa according to preliminary investigations. According to the police she had been starving for a few days and is unable to speak currently.

The name of her ex-husband has not been disclosed by the authorities as the investigations are underway.
