Shantaben Bodiwala – a true matriarch

CHICAGO (IL) — At the first blush, Shanta Bodiwala, who died in Chicago on August 14, may look like just another woman in the crowd. But the mother of 3 sons, 2 daughters and grandmother and great-grandmother of 5 children was no grey-haired granny to be sneezed at.

Married in India at tender age of 9 years and not well-educated as was the norm for a woman in those good old days, Chavda was a true matriarch.

Despite countless stumbling blocks that came her way during her journey of life, she raised and took good care of her massive family with her sheer resolve, intelligence and common sense.

As years passed by, she inculcate among her chidren and grandkids the true Hindu traditional values needed to be thriving and respectful in society.

What’s more, the humble woman led an inspiring life with pride, dignity, honesty and enviable moral values.

Mr Suresh Bodiwala told : “One can value the care and nurturing of any tree not just by good looks of the tree but most importantly by the fruits it bears.Her life was an inspiration. She accomplished the role of a true matriarch. Her loss is unbearable and irraparable”.
