SBA-LA Honors Minal Mondkar from Aura Seating for Outstanding Achievemen

LOS ANGELES, CA – During the National Small Business Week festivities, the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Los Angeles District Office (LADO) celebrated the achievements of local small business owners at the Los Angeles Regional Small Business Summit. Notably, Indian American Minal Mondkar received both the Small Business Person of the Year and the Entrepreneurial Success Award. SBA Los Angeles Director, Julie Clowes, praised small business owners for their dedication, highlighting their crucial role in community vibrancy.

Mondkar, founder of Murti, LLC (dba Aura Seating), was lauded for her innovative approach to sustainable and ergonomic office furniture design. Despite personal challenges, she pursued her entrepreneurial dreams, creating a lasting impact on the industry. Born with scoliosis, Mondkar found solace in yoga and later established Aura Seating to prioritize aesthetics and ergonomic design. Recognized nationally, Aura Seating exemplifies Mondkar’s commitment to excellence and customer well-being. Anita Ron of BriteWorks Inc. also received the Small Business Person of the Year Award. Director Clowes commended the SBA’s resource partners, including PACE Women’s Business Center and Pasadena City College Small Business Development Center, for their role in empowering small businesses.
