Rihanna to receive Icon award

Los Angeles, Nov 16 (IANS) Pop star Rihanna will be honoured with an Icon Award at the forthcoming American Music Awards (AMA) Nov 24.

The 25-year-old, who will also perform at the event, will be recognised for her profound influence over pop music across the world.

The news comes just days after the R&B singer scored her 25th top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, tying her with Elvis Presley, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The Icon Award will be Rihanna’s seventh AMA.
