Ravi Bhalla Lambasts Opponent Over Sam Bankman-Fried’s $250,000 Contribution

HOBOKEN, NJ- The Ravi Bhalla for Congress campaign has sharply criticized Democratic primary opponent Representative Rob Menendez Jr. for his apparent acceptance of support from Sam Bankman-Fried’s Super PAC, Protect Our Future, during the 2022 primary campaign, to the tune of $250,000.

Last week, Sam Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison for defrauding hundreds of thousands of customers.

“This constitutes a clear attempt to sway the actions of Senator Bob Menendez, Rob Menendez Jr.’s father, particularly concerning the Senate Banking Committee’s deliberations on cryptocurrencies, and Rob Menendez Jr. appeared content to benefit from this support while remaining silent,” stated Rob Horowitz, spokesperson for Ravi Bhalla for Congress. “It is now apparent that Rob Menendez Jr. likely profited from funds unlawfully obtained from investors.”

Horowitz continued, “It is imperative for Rob Menendez Jr. to distance himself from the special interests that have propelled his political trajectory. I urge him to join me in refusing corporate PAC contributions.”

The primaries are scheduled for June.
