New Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS) About 400 UPSC aspirants on Tuesday continued their protest against the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) at the Jantar Mantar here.

The students remained seated at the protest site located in the heart of the city from Monday evening, demanding the CSAT be scrapped and the August 24 examination date be deferred.

"We want the examination date to be deferred and CSAT be completely scrapped. The protest may intensify if the government does not meet our demands," Ajit Chakarvarty, a student, told IANS.

Monday, the government said marks for English language comprehension skills will not be included in preparing the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) merit list.

The UPSC students also protested at Mukherjee Nagar, a residential area in north Delhi near Delhi University that is popular with students who pour into the capital from other states to prepare for the civil services examination.

They have been protesting for the past two weeks, asking the government to scrap the CSAT and calling it "discriminatory" against those with Hindi and humanities background.
