Police Charge Juvenile for Allegedly Threatening to Blow Up Warren Middle School

WARREN, NJ — A juvenile has been charged in connection with a threat made at Warren Middle School last Friday.

On May 3 at 7:25 a.m., a WMS staff member alerted the Warren Township Police after the main office received a threatening voicemail, as reported by Warren Police Chief Robert Ferreiro.

In response, Warren Township Police, along with officers from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office and Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office K9 Units, swiftly evacuated the school and conducted a thorough search, determining that the threat was not credible. Warren Police Detectives identified the juvenile responsible for leaving the voicemail, revealing that the motive was an attempt to prompt the closure of the school for the day, Chief Ferreiro stated.

The juvenile has been charged with third-degree false public alarms, on a juvenile delinquency summons, with a court date yet to be determined.
