India Vs Pakistan, arguably the greatest rivalry of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, that the world is looking forward to, is set to take place at the Dubai International Stadium later today and fans from both sides were present around the venue trying to interact with their favourite players all night long.

In a video that has gone viral, the former Indian skipper and team mentor for the on-going tournament, Mahendra Singh Dhoni alongside batter KL Rahul, could be seen sharing a friendly banter with the supporters of the opposing side at the end of India’s final practice session before the clash.

“Rahul, please don’t play well tomorrow,” one of the fans told the Indian cricketer who was walking towards his room and managed to sneak in a smile towards the fans while taking the comment in good spirits.

Another man could be seen cracking jokes with Dhoni: “Old people are doing the work while kids are playing cricket (a sarcastic taunt about Dhoni’s return to the team as the mentor at 40 years of age).

“Hamara kaam hi aisa hai jaldi retire hone wala (such is our work in which players retire at an early age),” Dhoni replied with a big smile on his face while Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah quietly walked by his side.

Dhoni remains one of the most loved Indian cricketers among the Pakistani fanbase and it was because of encounters like these that the bond continues to grow stronger even though he has retired from international cricket and is present in the United Arab Emirates just in the supporting role for the Men in Blue.

One of his greatest Pakistani fans, Mohammad Bashir Bozai aka ‘Chacha Chicago’, who had also pledged to stop watching cricket after Dhoni’s retirement, has also returned to the stadium. “This might probably be the last time I can visit a tournament and watch Dhoni in the Indian dressing room so I couldn’t let this opportunity go by,” said Bashir.

He was first helped by Dhoni acquire seats to the 2011 World Cup semi-final between India and Pakistan in Mohali and ever since he has become a die-hard support of the MS Dhoni fanbase.
