PCS’s ‘Rangla Punjab’ on April 19

In order to celebrate the Vaisakhi festival, the Punjabi Cultural Society (PCS) of Chicago (PCS) has organized its flagship event, ‘Rangla Punjab 2014’, at Meadows Club, 2950 W Golf Rd, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008 on April 19.

About 30 performing arts items will be presented at the show which where University of Chicago, UIC Bhangra and Giddha teams from Milwaukee and Chicago will perform.

The Vaisakhi festival is a celebration marking the end of the harvest season, and beginning of a new crop cycle. It is a symbol of renewal and also a new year.

The PCS (www.PCSChicago.org) has been organizing its traditional Punjabi cultural program, ‘Rangla Punjab’, for more than two decades.

This is the single largest annual Punjabi cultural variety event in Chicago area that showcases the Punjabi performing arts and promotes the local community talent.

A gathering of 1,500 is expected at the grand event where more than 250 local artists from Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana will strive to display their talent.

Popular Punjabi dances Bhangra and Giddha, Punjabi music and songs, comedy skits, poetry, and many other items will be presented.

General admission ticket for the show is $15 each and that for the reserved section is $25 each, and reserved numbered seating is $50 each. Front rows will be reserved seating for donors and VIP $100 tickets, which includes a delicious Punjabi dinner
