New Delhi, April 17 (IANS) A plea by sexual harassment accused and environmentalist R.K. Pachauri seeking permission to travel to Greece for an international conference on water conservation will be heard on April 20, a court said here on Friday.

Additional Sessions Judge Sudesh Kumar fixed April 20 to hear Pachauri’s plea seeking permission to travel to Greece from April 26 to 29 to attend The Global Water Summit.

Pachauri was granted anticipatory bail on March 21 but he was directed not to leave the country without permission. He was also directed to not visit the premises of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

Pachauri, who had stepped down as chairperson of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in February, has denied the allegations levelled against him but also proceeded on leave from TERI, where he was director general.

He is facing a complaint of alleged harassment by a woman research analyst who has also filed a police case against him.

Citing several texts, e-mails, and WhatsApp messages as evidence, the complainant has accused Pachauri of sexually harassing her soon after she joined TERI in September 2013.
