CHICAGO, IL — Musical concerts frequently held in the US mainly address music lovers speaking a single language. But the multi-lingual concert, Srutilaya 2015, came in like a breath of fresh air.

It brought music lovers from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds under one roof and provided a rare opportunity to them to appreciate universal magic of music, irrespective of languages in which it is expressed.
Held in Greater Chicago, Srutilaya 2015 featured hit numbers, both old and the contemporary ones, from Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu movies. The legendary singers and the state-of-the-art orchestra handsomely contributed to making the evening a memorable and distinctive experience.
Jayaraj Narayanan led the audience through the musical journey with fusion of classical and light music in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil.
Telugu song “Kondalalo Nilakonna” performed by him and Anitha touched the heart-strings s of the audience. Anitha Krishna enthralled Telugu and Malayalam music lovers.
The modern dance numbers, presented by Sunil Vasupillai and Pavithra Anand, were electrifying. Eleven years old Nitya Nair’s performed a beautiful song.
Rich musical tributes paid to Indian music legends–from R D Burman to A R Rahman–were the highlights of the show.
“It was the first multifaceted musical concert that I attended with great vocalists and different genres of music – hats off to the organizer, Jayaraj”, said Skokie Village Commissioner of Consumer Affairs, Anil Pillai.
