Modi’s NY Event Draws Enthusiastic Response from Indian American Community

HI INDIA NEWS DESK
NEW YORK, NY – Over 24,000 Indian Americans have registered to attend the mega event titled “Modi & US: Progress Together,” scheduled for September 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, which has a capacity of 15,000. Organized by the Indo-American Community of USA (IACU), the event will feature an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to address the high-level UN General Assembly session on September 26, according to a provisional list of speakers issued by the UN.

The IACU has facilitated registrations for the Long Island event through 590 community organizations nationwide, all of which are participating as “Welcome Partners.” Indian Americans from at least 42 states are expected to attend, with particularly strong participation from the tri-state area.

The event will also include cultural performances and appearances by prominent Indian Americans in business, science, entertainment, and the arts. Organizers have confirmed that representatives from all religious communities will be in attendance.

This gathering marks the 10th anniversary of Modi’s massive community address at Madison Square Garden in 2014.
