Minister instructs officials to make arrangements for Ganesh immersion

Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Wednesday instructed officials to make elaborate arrangements for Ganesh immersion scheduled on September 19.

The Minister along with Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao, Collector RV Karnan and Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana conducted a review meeting with officials and members of peace committee to discuss Ganesh immersion at the Collectorate conference hall here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar said Karimnagar was known for peace and tranquility and local people would celebrate all festivals in a peaceful atmosphere. He advised the people to celebrate Ganesh immersion in a peaceful manner.

Ganesh immersions were not organised properly during the last two years due to Covid pandemic, he said and instructed officials to make elaborate arrangements to celebrate the event in a big way this time around.

Ganesh idols from Karimnagar town would be immersed in Manakondur tank, Kothapalli tank and Chinthakunta canal. Besides barricades, lighting arrangements should be made at immersion points.

The Minister wanted the officials to arrange two big cranes, a small crane and deploy professional swimmers at every immersion point. Beside an ambulance, a medical camp should also be arranged at the point, he instructed DMHO. He wanted the police to take steps to complete the immersion process by 12 midnight to 1 am.

Informing to pay electricity bills of all ganesh pandals in Karimnagar from his personal account, Kamalakar instructed Transco superintendent engineer not to collect power bills from organisers.
