Rio de Janeiro, Sep 6: Mexico's Queretaro are in talks to sign Brazilian World Cup-winner Ronaldinho, the club's officials have confirmed.

Queretaro sporting director Adolfo Rios said Friday that negotiations were on with Ronaldinho's brother and agent Roberto Assis, reported Xinhua.

"There are negotiations, but nothing has yet been sealed," Rios told Televisa.

Rios cautioned that it wasn't the first time that the situation of looking to sign a player occurred and the negotiations could fail due to external situations.

Speculations increased when Ronaldinho arrived in Mexico City for a charity event Friday.

The 34-year-old also posted a background image on his official Facebook page with the colours of the Mexican flag.

Ronaldinho is a free agent after leaving Brazil's Atletico Mineiro by mutual consent in July.

He has also been linked with moves to Palmeiras, New York Red Bulls, Fluminense, Besiktas, Queens Park Rangers and Boca Juniors.
