Mavs beat Spurs with buzzer-beating 3-pointer

Atlanta, April 27 (IANS) The eighth-seeded Dallas Mavericks edged top seed San Antonio Spurs 109-108 in the NBA playoffs thanks to a game-winning three-pointer from veteran Vince Carter.

Carter got the ball from Jose Calderon with 1.7 seconds left, and he shot the ball just in time to give the Mavs a win Saturday night, reports Xinhua.

Monta Ellis had 29 points for the Mavs. Dirk Nowitzki got 18. Jose Calderon and Samuel Dalembert scored 16 and 13 points respectively.

Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 22 points while Tiago Splitter finished with 14 points and 13 rebound.
