Man killed by lover’s family, 3 held

New Delhi, Feb 2 (IANS) A man working as a photographer was stabbed to death by the family members of a woman, with whom he was in a relationship, police said on Friday. The mother, father and uncle of the woman have been arrested for the murder.

Police said Ankit, 23, was in a relationship with a 20-year-old woman for the last three years.

The father, mother, uncle and minor brother of the woman were against the relationship and had a verbal fight with him on Thursday night.

"During the investigation, it was found that they caught and stabbed Ankit in the neck. The woman’s family was against their relationship as they belonged to different communities and had threatened Ankit to disassociate himself with her," Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vijay Kumar, said.

"Except for the minor brother, the woman’s mother, father and uncle have been arrested," he added.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. and was reported to the police by a private hospital staff. No PCR call was made in the incident, the police added.
