Kotak Mahindra Bank, PVR Cinemas tie up to sell movie tickets

New Delhi, July 12 (IANS) Private bank Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (KMBL) on Saturday said has entered into an agreement with PVR cinemas whereby bank customers can purchase the multiplex’s tickets on social media platform.

The bank has termed the move as social commerce by integrating e-commerce with social media.

The bank’s customers, as a result of the tie-up can purchase tickets via Twitter for the upcoming movie "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" which is slated to be released on Eid day, likely on next Saturday.

"Social commerce is a new dimension of social media banking, where we are enabling e-commerce transactions via Twitter. We are creating experiences that redefine banking by seamlessly integrating them into customers’ lifestyles," bank’s consumer banking president Shanti Ekambaram said in a statement.

The bank has claimed to provide its customers tickets before they are made available to general public. "Further, customers are also assured of best seats," the statement said.

It has also partnered with writer Amish whereby its customers can purchase his latest book by simply sending a tweet.
