‘Is That A Bra You’re Wearing?’ When Nushrratt’s Parents Were ‘Taken Aback’ By Her Outfit

Nushrratt Bharuccha’s recently released horror film Chhorii has garnered immense acclaim for the actress for her performance.

Nushrratt, who has been a part of several popular films including Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Dream Girl, Chhalaang, recently opened up about how her parents reacted to a revealing outfit she wore in the song Chote Chote Peg from Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

Talking about her parents and family members, Nushrratt told RJ Siddharth Kannan that when the song was released, her father, mother and grandmother watched it with her and “they actually looked at me and asked, ‘Is that a bra that you are wearing?’ And I paused for two seconds and I said, ‘It’s a bralette. It’s not a bra, it’s a bralette. There is a term for it, it’s a styling term. People wear it.’”

She further added, “So, of course, they were a little taken aback ki, ‘yeh kya hai?’ (what is this?) But, it worked. It worked for the song, it worked for me. It looked nice. Everybody spoke about it well. It became a hit. I think what happened was, they kind of understood there is a reason why certain things are done for a certain theme. Matlab agar iss gaane mein yeh hai toh yeh hai (If this is the demand of the song, this is how it is). It doesn’t take away from who I am. I have not fallen in anything so it was easy for them to get over it.”

Nushrratt’s career started way back in 2006 with Jai Santoshi Maa.

She also did a supporting role in Kal Kissne Dekha before making head turns with Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011 and its sequel Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 in 2015.
