Lausanne, April 14 : The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has launched a whistle-blower hotline for competition manipulation and other unethical issues that threaten the integrity of sport.

The move was announced on Monday at an international summit on sports integrity here, which was chaired by IOC president Thomas Bach, reports Xinhua.

"The ultimate goal of all this is to protect the clean athletes and to give them, as far as we can, fair competition," Bach said.

The web-based hotline is open to athletes, coaches, referees and the public, and guarantees 100 percent anonymity.

Anyone can report suspicious approaches or activities related to competition manipulation and/or infringements of the IOC Code of Ethics or other matters, the IOC said.

Financial misconduct or other legal, regulatory and ethical breaches over which the IOC has jurisdiction can also be reported on the hotline.
