Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Task Force on Friday nabbed a five-member interstate shutter-lifting gang from Bihar involved in half-a-dozen cases. Police seized Rs 3 lakh and other material from them.

Officials said the gang was involved in cases in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Kerala and were among the most wanted criminals for the Hyderabad Police. The arrested persons were Shaik Masiruddin (23) the leader of the gang, Mohd.Azad (22), Parwez Alam (26), Mohd.Javed (26) and Mohd.Akhtar Hussain (23), all residents of Delhi and natives of Bihar. One suspect, Asif Alam, was absconding.

According to the police, Masiruddin and the gang marked shops in the day time and returned in the night, broke open the shutter and stole cash from the counter. In the last week of August, the gang which came to Hyderabad from Delhi by train, took shelter near the Secunderabad Railway Station. They procured tools from the local market and targeted a shop under the Market police limits.

After the offence, they fled to Kerala by train and committed two offences in Kasaragod, from where they left for Delhi by train. Following a complaint, the Task Force verified CCTV footage from the shop and surrounding areas, and identified the suspects. They monitored their movements and nabbed them when the gang returned to Hyderabad.

The arrested persons along with the seized material were handed over to the Market police.
