London, May 14 (IANS) An inquest into the death of an Indian-origin woman who died two years ago in her home near Britain’s Birmingham, found that it was a case of suicide, media reported on Tuesday.

Neha Khanna, 25, was found hanging with her scarf from the stairs of her home in Chelmsley Wood neighbourhood near Birmingham by her estranged husband Mohammed Junaid in October 2012.

The Birmingham Coroner’s Court heard that the couple’s relationship had broken down and Junaid had filed for divorce in 2011, the Birmingham Mail reported.

Khanna, a sales advisor, had tried unsuccessfully to commit suicide on numerous other occasions, the inquest heard.

Junaid, a sales manager, went to her house after work after he failed to hear from her over the weekend.

He made his way through the back door and found his wife hanging from the stairs.

The coroner recorded the cause of death as hanging.

“She died by way of suicide. She intended to take her own life. It is a tragic loss of a young life,” the coroner said.
