Indian American school girl announced winner by Princess of Sweden

SAN JOSE, CA- The Stockholm Junior Water Prize has gone to a young Indian American girl Eshani Jha. Jha won the award for her research on decontaminating water. The winner was announced by Sweden’s crown princess Victoria on Tuesday during an online award ceremony that was held as part of World Water Week in Stockholm.

 

A student of Lynbrook High School in San Jose, California, Jha had found a simpler, cost-effective way of cleaning freshwater by replacing active carbon with biochar.
