IndiaFest Milwaukee held in Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE, WI — Indian Americans celebrated IndiaFest Milwaukee 2015 at Humboldt Park on a grand scale in Wisconsin.

It was orchestrated and presented by Spindle India, a non-profit organization. The objective of this event was three fold: to enable Indian-Americans connect to their roots, to pass on their unique traditions to new generation, and to promote intercultural competence, empathy, and business growth.
The event, with free entry, had over 15,000 Indian American attendees, including people belonging to different nationalities. It saw multigenerational families dressed in traditional garb.
The event, organized for the third time, had newly-introduced attractions like Wisconsin India Singing Idol, Mr./Mrs. Wisconsin, Flagship India Fashion Show, Flagship Kid’s Parade, Indian Classical/Bollywood Dances, Traditional Dhol and Contemporary DJ Fusion, Vibrant Costumes, Creative Painting, etc.
The event was an all-day retreat which was enjoyed thoroughly by people along with their families and friends.
City of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, Brookfield Mayor Steve Ponto, Bay-view Alderman Tony Zielinski, Katherine Thorat representative of Air India, Shawn Reilly and Milwaukee Judge Joseph Donald were present as Guests of Honor at the inauguration.
Consul General of India, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed extended warm greetings.
