Cricket fans in India and Pakistan are eagerly waiting for the calendar to turn October 24 so that they could see their national teams face off in the 2021 T20 World Cup

The match between the two arch-rivals will be the highlight of the tournament and the anticipation around the match is growing like wildfire with each passing day.

While Indian players are busy playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) for their respective franchises ahead of the tournament, Pakistani cricketers are struggling to get game time after New Zealand and England both cancelled their tour of Pakistan within a week.

The BLACKCAPS are abandoning their tour of Pakistan following a New Zealand government security alert.

Arrangements are now being made for the team’s departure.

While New Zealand players returned home from Pakistan even before the series could start owing to serious security threats, the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) also called off their tour to the Asian nation scheduled for next month.

Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja, who recently assumed charge as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has had a tough start to his tenure. Unable to provide his players with game time, Ramiz Raja has taken it upon himself to keep his players motivated.

With no cricket in place, Raja has devised a new plan to boost the morale of his players ahead of the multi-nation tournament in the UAE.

He has been giving a lot of pep talks to his players as well as his fellow citizens to help them recover from the setback of dual tour cancellation.

In an attempt to please his public, Raja made an outrageous claim during a media interaction, where he said that the Indian cricket team must be thankful to Pakistan because whatever success they are enjoying at the moment was made possible by stealing their idea and strategies.

Yes, you read that right! Isn’t it a serious contender for the ‘Joke of the Century’? We bet it is.

During an interaction with ARY Sports, the PCB chief said: “Of late, India have adopted all good strategies of Pakistan team. And this was bound to happen as India’s head coach Ravi Shastri was always impressed with Pakistan. Ours was a very hard-working and dedicated lot, we used to take players who were less talented to 100%, and we refused to give up.”

“They have changed their model on similar lines, worked a lot on skill, the level of their first-class cricket has significantly improved, which has connected all the dots for them. We have to work on a lot of things in the next 3-4 years to reach there,” Raja added.

He did accept that there is no match between Indian and Pakistani teams because we are far superior in terms of both quality and quantity and it would take them 3-4 years to reach our level.

While we understand his problem that he didn’t want to praise the Indian team and its players fearing an obvious backlash from his public, he would have at least saved himself from this embarrassment that he is facing right now had he thought twice before opening his mouth.
