India Republic Day Celebrated by IAF in New York

NEW YORK, NY – Under the leadership of Dr. Bobby K Kalotee, Chairman of the Nassau County Human Rights Commission, along with Vimal Goyal and Deepak Bansal, President of IDPUSA, and Indu Jaiswal, Chairperson of the Indian American Forum, the 75th India Republic Day was celebrated at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola, NY. The event featured honor recognitions, cultural music, dances, and performances to commemorate India’s adoption of a republic constitution after gaining independence from British rule.

Dignitaries including New York State Senator Steve Rhoads, Nassau County Controller Elaine Philips, Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, and other officials such as Nassau County Deputy Executive Anissa Moore, NY State Assemblyman John Mikulin, and Town of North Hempstead Clerk Ragini Srivastava were present. The celebration included singing of the Indian National Anthem and showcased the Republic Day Parade celebrations from New Delhi on TV screens.

Community leaders were honored with citations and awards, including Chintu Patel, Harry Singh, Dr. Narinder M Kukar, Dr. Shefali Karkare, Dr. Nakul Karkare, Harshad Patel, Manu Patel, Pritpal Kaur, Mukesh Modi, and Satinder Lovely Kaur. Special thanks were extended to Dr. Bobby K Kalotee for organizing the event, and IDP President Vimal Goyal and Deepak Bansal were announced as the co-presidents to lead the India Day Parade 2024 in Hicksville, NY. Students of Shilpa Mithaiwala presented patriotic songs and dances, creating a vibrant atmosphere, while community leaders and members attended the event.
