LOS ANGELES, CA – The India Philanthropy Alliance (IPA) has announced the 3rd annual India Giving Day, set for March 14, 2025. This campaign, which seeks to boost participation and accessibility, will expand community and regional events across the U.S., following last year’s success. IPA plans to engage young people in peer-to-peer fundraising through its Youth Leadership Council.

“India Giving Day started as a ‘proof of concept,’” said IPA Executive Director Alex Counts. “We believed if we showcased high-impact nonprofits and celebrated Indian culture, the Indian American community would rally behind them. Our second campaign was a breakthrough.”

The inaugural India Giving Day in 2023 raised nearly $1.4 million from 1,031 donors. By 2024, donations surged to over $5.5 million from 1,770 donors, largely driven by an expansion in community events, which grew from four to over 40, and an increase in volunteer fundraisers from 36 to nearly 200.

For 2025, India Giving Day seeks to maintain this momentum, fostering greater community engagement with incentives and prizes. Events will vary in scale, from small home gatherings to larger regional events, such as those in Dallas, Texas, where a partnership between TiE and local nonprofits has expanded.

Key sponsors include the Rural India Supporting Trust, MacArthur Foundation, Bank of America, and others. Nonprofits supporting India’s development are encouraged to register by October 31, 2024, at www.indiaphilanthropyalliance.org.

IPA is a coalition of organizations mobilizing resources in the U.S. for development programs in India.
