In Illinois nursing homes, tens of thousands still waiting for COVID-19 vaccinations: ‘This is beyond an emergency’

As of Thursday, roughly 90,000 COVID-19 vaccine shots had been administered in Illinois’ long-term care facilities — far less than half of the 360,000 facility residents and staff members who qualify for early vaccinations.
