IGCSA Hosts Vibrant Gujarati Literature and Cultural Event in Atlanta

ATLANTA, GA- The International Gujarati Cultural Society of Atlanta (IGCSA) organized two exceptional events at the Best Western, Roswell, Atlanta on July 13, 2024, captivating the Gujarati audience. The first was an evening with noted writer Madhu Rye, and the second featured popular Gujarati Ghazals by the iconic poet Shobhit Desai.

The program began with a reading of Madhu Rye’s short story “Makan,” followed by “Acharaj.” Rye’s epistolary play “Chatushkon” was performed by Falguni Trivedi-Shah and Sanjay Pandya, who kept the audience engaged with their emotive delivery. Rye also conducted interactive games to enhance understanding and usage of the Gujarati language, providing a unique experience for attendees.

During the interval, a light dinner was served, and Dr. Naresh Parikh felicitated Madhu Rye with a shawl. Rye gifted him his novel “Kimball Ravenswood.”

The evening continued with “Gazalni Gunjati Sargam,” a three-hour entertainment program of Gujarati Ghazals by Shobhit Desai and Nimish Sevek. They shared stories of renowned Gujarati Ghazal poets, offering a rare treat for poetry and music lovers. The event saw over 125 attendees, including notable figures from the Atlanta community.

IGCSA expressed gratitude to all sponsors, media, and supporters for making the event a resounding success.
