Hyderabad: The Jawaharnagar police solved the murder case of P Sujatha (35), who was found murdered in the Defence forest area on Tuesday and arrested a man.

Confirming that the victim was not raped, police said the suspect killed her for refusing to have a physical relationship with him.

The arrested person was Anjappa alias Anjaneyulu (43), a labourer from Balaji Nagar and a native of Makthal in Narayanpet district.

According to the police, Anjaneyulu, who belonged to Sujatha’s neighbourhood, often visited her house and developed physical feelings towards her. He had asked her a few times to fulfill his desire, but she refused and warned him. Recently, Sujatha requested Anjaneyulu if he could give her a loan of Rs 5,000.

Taking advantage of this last Saturday, he promised to give her money and took her to the Defence forest area where he made advances towards her. When she resisted, he bludgeoned her to death, police said.
