Here’s Why Saif Ali Khan & Kareena Kapoor Couldn’t Have A Small Wedding That They Wanted
People expect celebrity weddings to be grand and big. One of the best celebrity weddings that is etched in our memories is Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s wedding ceremony.
The duo got married after falling in love with each other on the sets of Tashan in 2012. Only close family and friends were invited at the wedding.
Not only this, Kareena’s bridal attire became an iconic look as she wore a reworked version of her mother-in-law veteran actress Sharmila Tagore’s bridal dress.
Though their wedding wasn’t a grand affair, many renowned celebrities were spotted at the wedding.
Recently, Saif Ali Khan was on the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show for the promotion of his film Bhoot Police. The actor was accompanied by his co-stars Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez.
The host Kapil Sharma asked Yami Gautam about her recent small wedding with only 20 guests.
Saif shared that he and his wife also wanted a close knit ceremony but the Kapoor family has over 200 members so that couldn’t happen and it ended up becoming a grand affair.
Saif said, “Jab humne shaadi ki thi tab humne bhi decide kiya tha ki close family karenge lekin Kapoor family jo hai wo kum se kum 200 hai.”
Saif further said, “Mujhe bahut darr lag raha hai expensive shaadi se. Mere chaar bache hain, mujhe bahut darr lag raha hai.” [Loose translation: Expensive weddings scare me. I have four kids. I’m really scared.]”
