Gurgaon, Aug 30 (IANS) A man has been booked for getting a driver’s job with the Haryana Roadways on a fake driving licence, police said here on Friday.

Rakesh Kumar, 30, was booked under sections of cheating, preparing and using fake documents and hatching a criminal conspiracy.

Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Rohtak district in the state, managed to get the job on a fake driving licence issued from a Road Transport Authority (RTA) in Nagaland.

He joined Haryana Roadways July 3.

"We sent the driving licence for verification. The Nagaland authority said it was a fake. We have suspended the accused," Rohit Yadav, Haryana Roadways, Gurgaon general manager, told IANS.

The licence was originally issued in the name of Hakkandeen of Didipur village in the Mewat district of Haryana.

It expired in 2009 and was reissued by Gurgaon RTA in the name of Kumar.

Licence issued by Gurgaon RTA expired in 2012 and was renewed by Rohtak RTA, with validity till 2015.

"A case has been registered against Rakesh Kumar at the Civil Lines police station on the complaint of Roadways GM Rohit Yadav. We will arrest the accused soon," a senior police officer told IANS.
