Naperville, IL — Dressed in their bright red shirts, and accompanied by many family members, the ladies of Happy Feet Walkers Club joined India’s Independence Day parade in Naperville on August 13 again this year.

Their motto of "Fun, Fitness and Friendship" was on display as they walked with the parade along with young infants and grandparents. Launched two years ago as an initiative to encourage a healthy lifestyle among women, the club now boasts almost 120 members.

The women’s goal is to inspire and encourage each other with weekly group walks, family events and competitive challenges all year.

"Actively participating in this club over the past year has changed the thinking and attitude towards everything in lives of lots of women. We feel healthier, enjoy greater energy and relish the camaraderie and friendship we find here literally every day. We use social media as a great motivator," shared one participant in the parade.
