Green India Challenge: Nagarjuna promises to adopt 1000 acre reserved forest

Hyderabad: Joining in the Green India Challenge initiated by Rajya Sabha MP, J Santosh Kumar, actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has come forward to adopt 1000 acre reserved forest area.

The popular show Big Boss-5 made Green India as it’s part and during an interaction with Santosh Kumar, host Nagarjuna promised to become part of the movement and adopt reserved forest.

Responding to a query from Nagarjuna as to how many saplings were planted as part of Green India initiative, Santosh Kumar replied, “16 crore saplings”.

He said the initiative was taken up to involve everyone and have them plant saplings. While individuals joined in planting a sapling or two, teams also extended support and planted more.

Film stars and celebrities too became part of it, he said adding that actor Prabhas had adopted 1643 acres of forest area and Hetero Drugs Parthasarathy Reddy adopted 2500 acres.

Nagarjuna planted a sapling given by Santosh Kumar in Big Boss House and assured on propagating the spirit of Green India Challenge.
