Four held for drug peddling in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The LB Nagar Special Operations Team along with the Meerpet police nabbed four persons on charges of drug peddling and seized 600 gm of marijuana and 8 ml of hashish oil, all worth Rs 85,000 from them on Saturday.

The arrested persons are V Santhosh from Meepet, R Philips Kalyan from Balapur, Syed Aziz from Karmanghat and B Narendra Srinivas from Gurramguda, while Shobha, Jithu alias Zithu and Nani were absconding.

According to the police, Santhosh and Philips Kalyan decided to earn easy money by selling marijuana to their friends and other consumers in the city. Accordingly, they started procuring marijuana sachets weighing about 20 grams each for Rs 50, from known persons in Dhoolpet and sold them to customers in Lenin Nagar for Rs 100 per sachet. They were peddling drugs in the area with the help of Shobha.

In the second incident, Syed Aziz, an auto-rickshaw driver procured marijuana sachets from Zithu and sold it to people for higher rates. Likewise, Srinivas who is also drug substance consumer himself, procured hashish oil from Nani in Kukatpally, and was found selling hashish oil to students and youngsters in Meerpet. Following a tip-off, the SOT caught the suspects and seized drugs from them.

3 held on charges of drug peddling

The Task Force raided a house at Maruthi Nagar in Santoshnagar and arrested three persons on charges of drug peddling on Friday night. Police seized 120 ml hashish oil, 600 gm marijuana and other material from them.

The arrested persons were identified as TR Pavan Kalyan (21), from Chandanagar, K Rakesh (25) and Pramod Kumar Goud (29) from Chinthal. Police said the trio procured drug substances from various places and transported them to Hyderabad through trains or by road transport system.

They sold them at lesser quantities to customers with a small box of hashish oil made offered for Rs 2,000 and a small sachet of marijuana between Rs 100 to Rs 200. The arrested persons along with the seized material were handed over to the Kanchanbagh police for further investigation.
