NEW YORK, NY — A fire broke out at the American Museum of Natural History early Tuesday morning, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.
An all-hands fire was reported at the world-famous Upper West Side museum at 200 Central Park West, between West 77th and West 81st streets, about 1:30 a.m., FDNY said.
It took about 60 firefighters to battle heavy smoke conditions on the first floor, and the firefighters had it under control by 2:30 a.m., an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury, the spokesperson added. FDNY is investigating the cause of the fire.
