NEW YORK, NY Diwali symbolises the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance”. During the celebrations, homes, shops and office buildings are brightly illuminated. This Festival of Lights, was celebrated in a grand way with bright and colorful celebrations at the Empire State Building organized by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) and Empire State realty trust.

The event was very well attended and the honor of lighting up the Empire State Building on the auspicious occasion of the Festival of Lights was bestowed upon the international sensation, Singer Songwriter Arjun Coomaraswamy. The event was masterfully orchestrated by esteemed Board of Trusty and Board of FIA including Chairman Ramesh Patel, President Alok Kumar, Trustee Ankur Vaidya and Past President Srujal Parikh, who welcomed the guests and wished everyone around the world a very Happy and Prosperous Diwali from the Empire State Building Iconic tower.

The tower lit up with millions of festive lights in Orange, the color of the Diya or the lamp and cast a beautiful hue across the night sky of NYC spreading the message of oneness in celebrating the victory of good over evil. The cultural show for this event was opened by Master Artist Anindita Nanda (Indian Classical Dancer) followed by Dancing Shiva dance performances. FIA and the Empire State Building, join everyone in celebrating with the world the Festival which signifies bringing light into darkness and celebrates unity, hope and goodness.
