Election for 3 Kerala RS seats on June 21

New Delhi, May 30 (IANS) The election to three Rajya Sabha seats from Kerala will be held on June 21, the Election Commission announced on Wednesday.

The vacancies would be created as three members — Joy Abraham, P.J. Kurien and C.P. Narayanan — are due to retire in July on the completion of their six year term.

The notofcation would be issued on June 4 and nominations can be made by June 11. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is June 14.

The polling will be held on June 21 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and the counting of votes would be done the same day, the EC said.
